Collection Contact RepresentativeAs a Collection Contact Representative, you will provide customer support working directly with taxpayers to research and analyze all available information applicable to collection issues to take corrective actions needed to close accounts.
Revenue AgentAs a Revenue Agent, you will use your accounting skills to plan and conduct examinations of individuals and businesses to determine Federal tax liability.
These examinations are generally conducted at the taxpayer's residence and/or place of business, working with taxpayers, their representatives, certified public accountants, and tax attorneys.
Revenue OfficerAs a Revenue Officer, you will collect tax and secure delinquent tax returns from taxpayers who have not resolved their obligations in response to notices and correspondence.
You will conduct interviews and provide guidance on a wide range of financial problems to assist taxpayers toward a positive course of action to resolve tax issues.
IRS employees receive the full package of federal employment benefits that include health and insurance plans, a generous annual and sick leave program, federal retirement, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, which is a supplemental retirement plan similar to a traditional 401(k).
